DIEGO MARCON: Adolescence on a Loop, Lenz Press

Published on the occasion of his exhibition at  Centro per l’arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato

curated by Stefano Collicelli Cagol and Elena Magini

September 30 – February 25 2024

Glassa was published by Lenz Press

The book Glassa brings together five essays that explore the exhibition from as many points of view, thus investigating diverse aspects of the artist’s working methodology, including the subject of youth and/or adolescence.

The themes embodied in the youthful figure go far beyond the apparent subject of Marcon’s film. As in his other work, we get the sense that the figure of the adolescent is used as a vehicle for conveying a message about time and memory. Given the existence of a modern narrative around childhood in art, can it be argued that youth is the subject of its own narrative in art
and film making? In short, can an artwork adopt certain principles specific to this age group?
